God sets the nations and has relationship with each one to fulfill His holiness by observing His Law, which is in the Bible. He accomplishes His unchangeable will and finally fulfills it through the nations and rulers that He appointed in human history. The states’ leaders and people, whether believers or unbelievers, form their own civilizations, which must be harmonious with God’s piety. In His sovereignty, country, people, and leaders move and live in this earthly kingdom, which God raised and maintains. He gives citizens of earthly nations a great responsibility to prevent them from destruction because of their sins. We have a mission for our country to not be ruined by sin. Therefore, we need civil justice. We need laws that have been given to us through the Scriptures. God places us in a nation, appoints leaders to rule over us and calls us to fulfill His piety with each other. We are to glorify God in this mission. Rev. Dong Hee Lee received a college degree in business administration in Seoul and studied at Westminster Theological Seminary (Glenside, PA) doing graduate studies in New Testament Theology. He earned Doctor of Religious Education from Faith Theological Seminary and a Master of Arts (Biblical Counseling) from Biblical Theological Seminary. He is Professor of Systematic Theology at Beulah Heights University in Atlanta, GA. He is also the author of Understanding and Application of Westminster Shorter Catechism; What Nehemiah Teaches us about Spiritual Leadership?; and Godliness and Spirituality: Apologetics of Godliness and Spirituality (Korean).
