Mein Augenmerk ist seit liingerer Zeit auf das Gliicksspiel, aber auch alIge­ meiner auf das Spiel gerichtet. Wer sich wie ich oft im Mittelmeerraum auf­ gehalten hat, wird festgestellt haben, daB dort allerorts und zu jeder Tages­ zeit gespielt wird. Es wird gespielt, um Geld gespielt, gewettet; Lotterie­ lose werden in den StraBencafes verkauft. Die Spielart scheint unerheblich zu sein. Brettspiele, Kartenspiele und Wiirfelspiele aller Art, sowie jede Form von Wette und Lotterie gewinnen offenbar an Bedeutung und werden spannender, sobald eine oftmals nur geringe Summe auf den Ausgang des Spieles gesetzt wird. In Deutschland finden diese Spiele ebenso statt, wenn auch nicht auf offener StraBe. Da sind zuniichst einmal Lotterien aller Art, die in Tabak- und Schreibwarengeschiiften, in Banken und in den Medien angeboten werden. Bei aufmerksamem Hinsehen kann man weitere Gliicksspiele ausmachen. Beispielsweise werden in Gaststiitten Wiirfelspiele mit absurd einfachen Re­ geln gespielt, deren einziger Sinn darin zu liegen scheint, daB der Verlierer fUr den Alkoholkonsum der Mitspieler autkommen muB. Meinungsver­ schiedenheiten werden wichtiger genommen, sobald zwei Beteiligte bereit sind, fUr ihre Uberzeugung Geld einzusetzen. Und am Schach- oder Back­ gammonbrett sowie am Billardtisch wechseln Geldscheine den Besitzer.
