L’obiettivo di questo libro è presentare il progetto Papo Reto, realizzato in una scuola pubblica della città di Belo Horizonte su iniziativa di tre insegnanti che, sulla base delle loro osservazioni quotidiane del contesto scolastico, si sono resi conto della necessità di pensare alla scuola occupata dagli studenti in altri modi. È in questo senso che è nata l’idea di Papo Reto come spazio per tavole rotonde settimanali su vari temi come il pregiudizio, la sessualità, la frustrazione, tra gli altri. Gli studenti e i membri del Papo Reto sceglievano di quali argomenti parlare. Ed è attraverso i Rodas che è iniziata la reinvenzione dello spazio scolastico.
