Our world is plagued with problems, insecurity, and temptations. These problems, insecurity, hardship, tribulations, and afflictions in the world are what I collectively refer to as storms of life. We wake up on a daily basis to news of these storms of life ravaging an individual, family, community, or even a country. These storms of life rise out of three main sources: 1. Self-induced storms 2. Nature-induced storms 3. Storms induced by others Self-induced storms are the problems we create for ourselves through our actions, inactions, reactions, and decisions. In order to satisfy our desires and pleasures of this life, we end up incurring problems and pressure on ourselves. Nature-induced storms refer to the problems that form a natural part of our lives as human beings. It is just a natural design that as human you will encounter some problems. '. . . Yet man is born unto trouble...' (Job 5:6-7). 'Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble' (Job 14:1). There is a large chunk of problems that are neither self nor nature induced; they rather rise out from certain elements that enter into our lives. There are certain behaviors, mind-sets, human beings and evil spirits that enter into our life become the source of recurrent problems. I refer to these sources of problems as Jonah in our boats. Just like Jonah had to be thrown overboard before there was calm in the ship he entered, if the Jonah in our boats is not driven out, some storms may never cease troubling us. This book is inspired by the Holy Spirit to reveal the nature, operational methods, and how to overcome the Jonah in our boats. We all have Jonahs in our boats; that is why this book is a must read!

We’ve been duped into removing prayer from the center of our churches and have placed it on the periphery or semi-periphery.  What we’re witnessing today in our churches, and in society at large, is that legacy of prayerlessness.  Church leadership may be hesitant and embarrassed to admit it, but there is a direct correlation between our spiritual weakness and our lack of corpo...

If God is good, why do we get sick? When God created the world, He declared: "It is good." But then came the Fall, and with it sickness and death. In this heart-tugging monograph, Dr. Davis McGuirt draws from both his training in theology and the personal agony of watching his father die from cancer to provide a variety of biblical reasons for why we get sick. We are also remin...
