A gestão pública das operações comerciais do aeroporto de Tingo Maria, cujo operador aeroportuário é uma empresa pública propriedade do Estado peruano, está subordinada à existência de infra-estruturas aeroportuárias adequadas, tais como 'pista, placa de estacionamento de aeronaves, edifício do terminal aéreo, etc.', conforme exigido pela aviação civil. Para além das infra-estruturas aeroportuárias, o aeroporto deve dispor de equipamento aeronáutico e aeroportuário, bem como de pessoal para prestar a atenção e as informações solicitadas pelos utilizadores. E determina-se que, embora existam algumas limitações no aeroporto, os utilizadores estão satisfeitos com os serviços que recebem no aeroporto, logicamente com as condições de melhoria exigidas atualmente pela aviação civil. Foi determinado que a pista e a placa de estacionamento de aeronaves não são asfaltadas.
