Susanne Falk analysiert das Ausmaß und die Ursachen geschlechtsspezifischer Ungleichheit im Erwerbsverlauf. Aus der Perspektive der Lebenslaufforschung und unter Verwendung neuerer Methoden der Längsschnittanalyse untersucht sie Differenzierungsprozesse zwischen weiblichen und männlichen Erwerbsverläufen. Veranschaulicht wird die Untersuchungsfrage am Beispiel Ostdeutschlands nach dem Systemumbruch. Die empirischen Analysen führen vor Augen, dass nicht nur familiäre Kontexte, sondern auch die geschlechtsspezifische Segregation von Berufen für die Entstehung und Verfestigung von Geschlechterungleichheit verantwortlich sind.
