In questo lavoro, l’autore mostra l’uso di strumenti geotecnici per mappare la distribuzione spaziale del campo termico della città di Piracicaba, SP, e confrontare i diversi tipi di superfici urbane. In questo studio, sono state effettuate rilevazioni di temperatura in 3 aree diverse, in determinati momenti, nelle stagioni estiva e invernale. Considerando che l’isola di calore urbana è legata ai cambiamenti nell’ambiente dovuti al processo di produzione nello spazio urbano, l’autore presenta alcuni cambiamenti significativi nell’atmosfera circostante della città di Piracicaba - SP, e dimostra che gli studi sul clima urbano possono contribuire alla pianificazione urbana e contribuire efficacemente ai piani regolatori comunali.
