Tout au long de mon cursus de licence à la Faculté de pharmacie de l’Université du Caire, j’ai développé une passion pour la chimie des produits naturels et la conception de médicaments. J’ai acquis une solide expérience en matière d’isolation et de détermination de la structure au cours de mon travail de master. J’ai eu la chance de recevoir le prix de la meilleure thèse de master pour l’année universitaire 2014. Les solanacées comprennent plus de 90 genres et 2 000 espèces, qui poussent principalement dans les régions tropicales et tempérées. Le genre Solanum, qui compte environ 1 500 espèces, est le plus grand genre de la famille des Solanacées ; il comprend des espèces d’importance économique et est largement répandu dans les régions tropicales et tempérées. Cette famille est également connue sous le nom informel de famille des solanacées ou des pommes de terre. D’autres ont suggéré que le nom proviendrait du verbe latin solari, signifiant apaiser , ou du mot latin solamen , signifiant apaisement , en référence à son action sédative. Cependant, certaines espèces de Solanum possèdent des propriétés toxiques attribuées à certains composants végétaux, principalement des alcaloïdes stéroïdiens. Elles constituent d’importantes sources de nourriture, d’épices et de médicaments.
