Le geno-dermatosi orali sono un gruppo di disturbi ereditari che colpiscono sia la cute che la mucosa orale, presentandosi spesso con manifestazioni orali distintive come leucoplachia, iperplasia gengivale, atrofia della mucosa e vesciche. Queste condizioni derivano da mutazioni genetiche che interessano la cheratina, il collagene o altre proteine strutturali, con conseguente fragilità o ispessimento della mucosa. Esempi comuni sono il nevo a spugna bianca, la pachionichia congenita, l’epidermolisi bollosa e la discheratosi congenita. Mentre alcuni sono benigni, altri comportano rischi di complicazioni come il cancro orale o gravi danni alla mucosa. La diagnosi e la gestione precoce sono fondamentali per mantenere la salute orale e prevenire le complicazioni.
