Elektrische Maschinen eignen sich aufgrund ihrer hohen Leistungsdichte und Effizienz ideal als Traktionsantriebe in Kraftfahrzeugen, wobei die Wicklungsdirektkühlung das Potenzial bietet, Dauerleistungsdichte und Effizienz weiter zu steigern. Für die Industrialisierung der Wicklungsdirektkühlung ist eine Statorabdichtung erforderlich, die den Statorraum vom Rotorraum mediendicht abtrennt, wobei das Integralspaltrohr hierfür eine serienfähige Lösung darstellt. Zur Entwicklung des Integralspaltrohrs wird zudem eine neue Methodik vorgestellt. Das Z-Modell ist speziell an die Entwicklung von funktionsintegrierten Kunststoffbauteilen im Bereich der E-Maschine angepasst.
