From The Bottom Up: The Life Story Of Alexander Irvine (1910) is an autobiography written by Alexander Irvine, a Scottish-American author and preacher. The book chronicles Irvine’s life from his humble beginnings in poverty-stricken Scotland to his eventual success as a writer and preacher in America. Irvine describes his childhood in Scotland, where he was raised by his grandparents in a small village. He recounts his experiences as a young man working in the coal mines and as a sailor, before immigrating to America in the late 1800s. Once in America, Irvine struggled to make a living and eventually found work as a preacher. He describes his experiences as a minister, including his work with the poor and his travels throughout the country. The book also touches on Irvine’s personal life, including his marriage and family. Overall, From The Bottom Up is a compelling and inspiring account of one man’s journey from poverty to success. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world’s literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
