A lo largo de 23 capítulos, visita y recrea lugares como: Paterson en Nueva Jersey, ciudad donde nació el cantante, Mayagüez, municipio de la costa oeste de Puerto Rico donde Frankie Ruiz logró introducirse al ambiente musical de la Isla del Encanto junto a la Orquesta La Solución, pero también distintos países en los que la música del Tártaro de la Salsa logró gran impacto como: Panamá, Perú, Colombia, Venezuela, República Dominicana, entre otros. Solo contaba 40 años al morir, pero su vida y obra merecen ser contadas. Sin duda, Frankie fue el primer cantante líder del movimiento de salsa romántica y el inspirador para otras figuras que luego alcanzaron el éxito. Su particular estilo cargado de swing y su personalidad arrolladora, lo convirtieron en ese ícono que representa una salsa con letras que enamoran, acopladas espléndidamente mediante arreglos musicales cadenciosos y muy bailables, una fórmula ganadora que hoy sigue dando resultados. 10
