Los Evangelios apócrifos son una colección de textos religiosos que presentan narrativas relacionadas con la vida y enseñanzas de Jesucristo, pero que no fueron incluidos en el canon oficial del Nuevo Testamento de la Biblia cristiana. La palabra 'apócrifo' proviene del griego y significa 'oculto' o 'secreto', y estos evangelios a menudo fueron considerados como escritos de autoría dudosa o que contenían enseñanzas no ortodoxas.Es importante destacar que estos evangelios apócrifos no fueron incluidos en la versión final del Nuevo Testamento en gran parte debido a razones históricas, teológicas y políticas. La Iglesia primitiva seleccionó ciertos textos que se consideraban más consistentes con su doctrina y enseñanzas, y los consideró como el canon oficial.
