Le sol est l’un des plus beaux cadeaux de la nature, mais ses réserves finies (nutriments) sont continuellement épuisées, ce qui entraîne une carence en nutriments. D’autre part, la pollution des sols par des métaux toxiques (Cd, Pb, etc.) a augmenté au cours des dernières décennies, principalement en raison de l’application d’engrais de ferme, de boues d’épuration, d’eaux usées et minières ou d’engrais obtenus à partir de phosphorites. L’étude de la spéciation des métaux dans les différents bassins/phases géochimiques revêt une grande importance en termes de disponibilité pour les plantes. Cela justifie donc l’exploitation des sols pour connaître la distribution des différents réservoirs chimiques de micronutriments et d’éléments toxiques et, par conséquent, l’adoption de stratégies de précaution pour les gérer.
