Robbie Pierce had a good life. He was athletic, handsome, had a loving family and a great girlfriend. When his brother Ryan came home from a trip with his fiancée’s family and told Robbie he got an early birthday present from his fiancée’s father, a brand new convertible, he decided to take Robbie for a joyride speeding on country roads. Then, disaster strikes - they are in a terrible accident that flips the car. Robbie wakes up in the hospital a few days later, sore and groggy, only to find out Ryan died in the crash, and that they almost lost him too when his heart stopped, but the doctors were able to restart it. Everything is different to Robbie after the crash. He feels completely alone, somehow distant from those he cares about. And then Robbie starts seeing Ryan’s ghost, silent and bloody with an angry stare. Robbie begins to believe he crossed over to the other side in that brief time his heart stopped, and that’s why he can see Ryan. But why is Ryan still here, and what is he trying to tell Robbie?

Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
