It feeds on mice, rats, frogs, and other small animals.A food chain begins with a plant, which produces energy for plants to use. This plant is called a producer, and it is at the beginning of the food chain. Other organisms, such as birds, also feed on these plants. They are known as consumers. In a food chain, there are several levels and pathways, which help determine the amount of food. However, if one level is disrupted, it can have devastating consequences. 3
