Nel fog computing, i dispositivi edge, come sensori, attuatori e dispositivi mobili, elaborano i dati localmente, mentre i server cloud gestiscono le attività più complesse e forniscono risorse aggiuntive in base alle necessità. Questo approccio distribuito consente l’elaborazione in tempo reale dei dati ai margini, riducendo la necessità di trasmissione dei dati ai server centralizzati e attenuando l’impatto della latenza di rete.Uno dei vantaggi principali del fog-cloud computing è la sua capacità di ottimizzare l’energia.
