Ein neuer fluoreszierender Chemosensor auf Thiacalix[4]aren-Basis, Thiacalix[4]aren-N-(chinolin-8-yl)acetamid (TCAN8QA), wurde synthetisiert und durch 1H-NMR-, FT-IR-, ESI-MS- und 13C-NMR-Spektroskopietechniken charakterisiert. Es wurde festgestellt, dass TCAN8QA sowohl in den Absorptions- als auch in den Emissionsspektren ein hochselektives Verhalten für F--Ionen unter allen anderen Anionen, z. B. Cl-, Br-, I-, PO4-3, OH-, H2PO4- und CH3COO-, aufweist. Die Rotverschiebung und das Löschen in Emissionsspektren, die die Signatur für den Nachweis von Fluorid darstellen, sind auf den photoinduzierten Ladungstransfer (PCT) zurückzuführen, der auf die Deprotonierung des sauren -NH-Protons in Gegenwart von Fluoridionen zurückzuführen ist. Die Beobachtung wird auch durch ESI-MS-, NMR- und FTIR-Spektralanalyse bestätigt.
