Our story begins in the year 1884 with Coleman Wills roaming through Central Florida, on horseback, as he’d done for most of his life. But this day, he comes upon Catherine Hamilton, a northerner, trying unsuccessfully to bury her husband who had been murdered that morning.  Together they travel across Central Florida with Cole helping Catherine seek revenge. Along the way they encounter multiple adventures including being hunted down by murderous land grabbers, illness and disease, Catholic nuns, and mean Methodists. Although the story is a work of fiction, the setting and highlighted sections about Florida, found throughout the book, are historically correct.'...Cecily Crossman takes the reader on a delightful journey back in time in Florida, A Love Story. The novel moves at a rapid pace, delving long enough in the different settings to steep the reader in the moment. Avid bookworms and casual readers, alike, will appreciate the opportunity to escape to Florida past, and witness a respectable love story.'-Mildred GrahamDirector-Advancement and Alumni AffairsFlorida A&M University College of LawAdvancement and Alumni Affairs 3

These decades helped define me personally as well. All along the way I wrote poetry as a release for my personal feelings of unrest. In 1978 I self published a slim book of poetry titled New Day. This was no small task prior to the Internet. ...
