There is always somebody who has an interesting approach and a fascinating personality. They will leave you unblinking and open-mouthed while you endeavour to suck in all their intricacies. Life is full of them and if given the opportunity when circumstances are right, they will provide you with a unique story.I was hardwired for their characters, and of course the Royal Marines would provide me with many. I was ever watchful for their unique personality, especially if they were my boss. I would observe them, tilting my head and face, endeavouring to glean every last drop of their character.I never took anything of anyone seriously, even in dangerous times in the Royal Marines; when nerves were on edge, there was always a joke to be had.This book is a dip in and out of my life. Serious, dangerous and adventurous, but for the most part funny, I think.
