Resumo: Um paciente com hemiplegia, pós-ressecção de astrocitoma, recebeu fisioterapia por um estudante numa universidade durante 16 sessões de tratamento, de março a maio de 2014, sob a supervisão de um fisioterapeuta licenciado. O paciente foi avaliado com o teste de caminhada de 10 metros, a Escala de Desenvolvimento Motor de Peabody-2, a Medida de Função Motora Grossa-66 e o Inventário de Avaliação Pediátrica de Deficiência. Os principais objetivos do paciente eram melhorar a função motora grossa e melhorar a marcha funcional. As intervenções utilizadas foram treino de marcha, fortalecimento específico para tarefas, treino de transferência e treino intensivo bimanual de mãos e braços. O paciente alcançou os seguintes objetivos: diminuição do atraso no desenvolvimento, melhoria da qualidade da marcha e melhoria da função motora grossa. O paciente recebeu alta para casa com a mãe, independente num programa de exercícios em casa.
