Este livro considera a história e as origens do financiamento de projectos para a indústria do petróleo e do gás, resumindo os benefícios associados ao financiamento estruturado. São apresentadas algumas discussões sobre entidades com fins especiais para o desenvolvimento de campos (multipoços), bem como abordagens gerais de projectos de capital. Os participantes e fornecedores envolvidos no financiamento de projectos são identificados e discutidos, incluindo os produtores independentes de petróleo e gás. Um conjunto de amostras destes produtores é analisado para determinar o impacto das despesas no retorno do capital investido (ROCE), no rendimento dos dividendos e no preço das acções. É explorada a forma como as futuras transacções de financiamento de projectos devem ser estruturadas para minimizar o risco da empresa e maximizar os retornos. Serão avaliadas duas formas principais, incluindo a securitização de fluxos futuros e as obrigações de dívida garantidas. Para ilustrar estas abordagens, será analisado um projeto de desenvolvimento de campo atual em Moçambique para compreender como os quadros teóricos podem ser melhor aplicados na indústria. O livro apresenta conclusões e recomendações para produtores independentes de E&P de grande dimensão.
