Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 1990 im Fachbereich Filmwissenschaft, Note: 1, Freie Universität Berlin (Institut für Theaterwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Proseminar: Grundbegriffe der Filmanalyse am Beispiel von Jean Renoirs 'La Règle du jeu' (1939), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Will man unter Filmmusik ausschließlich für das Kino geschriebene Kompositionen verstehen, so ist 'La Règle du jeu' ein ungeeignetes Feld. Dem shooting-transcript der Medienbibliothek zufolge wurde für Jean Renoirs Film keine Note eigens komponiert. Statt dessen behalf sich der Regisseur mit bereits existierenden Stücken unterschiedlichster Stilrichtungen. Joseph Kosma und Roger Desormière - der letztere ein namhafter Komponist von Filmmusik - zeichneten hier lediglich für Arrangements und Orchesterleitung verantwortlich.Mit Vorliebe setzt der Regisseur auf die Divergenz von musikalischer und inhaltlicher Stimmung, sei es um einen komischen Effekt zu erzielen, oder zur Ironisierung einer Szene. Die Vielschichtigkeit der Beziehungen zwischen Text, Spiel, Montage und den mit Phantasie ausgewählten Kompositionen zeigt die Flexibilität und Meisterschaft Jean Renoirs im Umgang mit seiner Filmmusik.
