We are in the year 2090, the United States long ago allowed California and the other western states to secede from the Union. Inside the re-formed United States, now known as Femeron, only women may be elected to office. Men are bred in limited numbers and kept in Playgroups or in high security prisons. But the once successful Femeron cloning program has run into trouble and an increasing rate of failures has reached crisis proportions. One genetic scientist has made the controversial proposal to reintroduce male sperm back into the breeding process. In order to obtain the votes needed to have this approved and implemented, she needs to present males before the Femeron Summit Council that can convince their leaders that males have evolved out of their sociopathic predisposition towards violence. Who will she bring? A journey to a maximum-security prison might be her next step...
