A FMF é uma doença hereditária com um início pediátrico e uma sintomatologia sistémica e crónica, a vagueação diagnóstica destes pacientes entre vários especialistas foi claramente encontrada nos nossos pacientes. A Argélia é um país mediterrânico e um país onde a consanguinidade é muito difundida, atingindo 38% em algumas regiões. Este manual é uma revisão de bibliografia recente com alguns casos clínicos reais ilustrados e destina-se a: médicos externos, estagiários, médicos de clínica geral e até especialistas (pediatras, médicos internos, cirurgiões, etc.) e visa dar a conhecer esta patologia à profissão médica e paramédica. Em conclusão, gostaria de dedicar este livro a todos os meus colegas, residentes e doutorandos que trabalham com pacientes com doenças crónicas.Aos meus colegas que trabalham em todo o mundo e que estão envolvidos no fascinante campo das doenças auto-inflamatórias, incluindo a FMF.
