Il concetto di fanatismo è fondamentalmente definito come l’apprezzamento o la difesa eccessiva, ossessiva e persino malsana di un soggetto, di un tema, di un’azione o di un’idea (Schwartz, 1998). D’altra parte, il fanatismo religioso può essere visto come l’incapacità di accettare che il mondo ha una diversità complessa e che nessuno ha una verità assoluta, concependo così una società limitata a un’anchilosi mentale o distruttiva (Rodriguez, 2017). Il problema è come affrontare il fanatismo e l’attaccamento religioso e il suo impatto sulle famiglie e sulla società. L’obiettivo è descrivere i comportamenti di un fanatico religioso nelle famiglie e nella società.
