When a new Christian cry out for God’s 'perfect will' and 'purpose' to be fulfilled in their life, one can expect literally 'all hell' to break loose. Nothing else makes sense as the pure character building 'walk' begins.          Bonnie had finally reached a comfort level in her life after many years of upheaval. That comfort level soon changes when she answered a TV advertisement, she hopes would fill an emotional void in her life. The result of this change took her from literal darkness to 'the light.' But not without going through several years of one fiery trail after another.During the first seven years following her response to the TV ad, Bonnie found herself jailed, bankrupt and living out of her car as she continued to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Though those years of character building with the Lord, she raised herself from the pits of depression. Once discovering her calling, she goes from death row to the highest office in state government carrying her message of injustice. This could have never happened if she had not developed the personal relationship with Jesus that many people only talk about, but few really experience, because they cannot find it within themselves to sacrifice 'all' to 'Walk a Mile in HIS shoes.' Bonnie Lou Oliver, author of Faithwalk, A Walk from Darkness to the LIGHT. Diverse would best describe Bonnie. Her story challenges many, but especially the men living out their sentences in prison, whether on death row or spending life in prison. All, she treats with respect and they returned that respect. She meets a man who is truly innocent not believing the injustice she witnessed, she takes up the gauntlet to fight his case. She could not do anything about the injustices in her own life, but she believed making a difference in another life, would make her life worth living. She takes the knowledge she gained from extensive study up to the governor’s office-building a rapport that also gains respect. Justice-that is all she wants-justice!Throughout life, she was always placed on academic probation because she could not take a test, but in each probationary period she proved that she was not to be overlooked. Receiving a Master’s Degree from Wheaton College. In her 30’s, she expressed herself through her paintings that she would classify as impressionistic. Her favorite piece was the portrait she painted of Emmitt Kelly the sad faced clown whose 'Vanishing Light' routine touched her as a child. She likened his sweeping of the spotlights until he made them disappear to the challenges of one’s life. She lived a season filled with prestige while married to an officer and gentleman. A devastating divorce, followed by despair. Then there were seasons when she was homeless due to challenging events in her life. Never feeling accepted. In a crowd you will see her hanging back-observing all around. Unless someone gets her in a conversation, they will never find out the depth of her personality and her Christian faith.
