Faith deals with the spiritual world and Science investigate the curiosities of our natural world. Faith and Science are collaborative partners that work together to offer a fuller picture of the processes and actions that brought things into existence, called creation. Faith and Science place God and humanity at the center of these developments. These two partners are interconnected to revealing how people look at the sky; determine their diet; set cultural limits and beliefs; observe changes in our environment; establish rituals that shaped our history past, present, and future. The Bible as literature can be read from the perspective of discovering the forerunners of different branches of science. Reading the Bible for scientific clues, we do not look for the same content as looking for faith components. From the first book in the Bible Genesis to the last book, Revelation we will find descriptors of our physical responsiveness to the environment. The intention of science is to clarify and strengthen our knowledge base. Faith offers us the opportunity to appreciate the artistry of God using inspired authors.Moving beyond only reading the scriptures will navigate the reader to a deeper interpretation of ‘listening to the text’. What else is it saying to you? Genesis starts with time, space, and matter. All three were initiated by an input of vast energy. For example, science predicts the “Big Bang Explosion” and Faith tells us about the “Holy Bang” of a divine energy source hovering over the open surface of the water on Earth. The book, “Faith comes by Hearing Science comes by Seeing “, the author offers six parts of inspired insights. The six sections include: (1) thoughts of how the Bible is not a Science book but consider this; (2) the author’s introduction to daily science in her early life; (3) how to search the Scriptures; (4) spiritual and natural energy sources; (5) early devastation of life on Earth; and (6) Renewing, Restoring and Replenishing a new Earth. The Bible is a book of truth with minimal explanations or details but contains foundational little chunks of information for further research. “The secret things belong to the Lord our God but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever” (Deuteronomy 29:29).

“Some shows have warnings for strobe lights. Some have them for loud gunshots.  Some for smoke.   MISSISSIPPI GODDAMN, a new play by Jonathan Norton should have one for intensity.   Granted, anyone attending a play about civil rights pioneer Medgar Evers set in 1963 Jackson, Mississippi, should expect some strife. Blood in the battle for racial equality is no surprise, but f...

  • The Lady From Maxim’s
    Georges Feydeau / Laurence Senelick
“It seems to me that for fertility in droll inventions, the perpetual outpouring of unforeseen misunderstandings, for the inexhaustible gaiety of dialogue, Feydeau’s new play is superior to everything he’s written so far. The most astonishing thing is the sureness with which everything is controlled, explained, justified, in the most extravagant buffoonery. The cross-purpose...

“Plenty of glamorous backstabbing, diva dissing and sexual double-crossing…has every right to claim the name Dynasty for itself.  But the title character in Betty Shamieh’s bouncy, bumpy comic melodrama is the real thing. A queen, I mean, and not just of the self-dramatizing type. Scratch that. She’s more than a queen. She’s a pharaoh, one Hatshepsut, who reigned over Egypt ...
