In the search for strategies to develop sustainable competitive advantages, MSEs are looking for more effective management processes, including financial management processes. Financial management offers various tools for efficient working capital management, which, if known and used well, can help to increase the company’s liquidity and reduce costs, making them more profitable and competitive. Knowledge in the financial area is fundamental to dealing with difficulties and increasing competitiveness, as it makes it possible to reduce investment in the company’s operations, which can then be directed towards innovation and technology, among other things. The aim of this study is to identify and analyze the factors that affect the working capital management of MSEs that are part of the clothing APL in the micro-region of Divinópolis, MG, by means of a case study of those that have their own Divishop store.
