Cet ouvrage présente les résultats d’une étude portant sur la mesure dans laquelle les enseignants des écoles secondaires publiques de l’Ohio intègrent la technologie numérique dans l’enseignement en classe et sur les obstacles à cette intégration. Les analyses sont basées sur un échantillon de 256 enseignants sélectionnés au hasard dans 18 écoles secondaires de l’État. Bien que 77 % des participants se considèrent comme compétents et 83 % comme maîtrisant l’intégration de la technologie dans l’apprentissage, l’utilisation des ordinateurs par les enseignants est faible et au mieux sporadique, avec une moyenne de 1,8 fois par semaine, ce qui équivaut à un niveau de novice en informatique. Les compétences numériques et la disponibilité des ordinateurs dans les classes des écoles secondaires publiques de l’Ohio influencent grandement le degré d’intégration de la technologie numérique dans l’apprentissage en classe par les enseignants.
