Pour faire face à l’inefficacité du modèle étatique de développement des années 1960-1970, les initiatives privées et l’entreprenariat ont été encouragés comme un moyen de sortir les économies africaines au suddu Sahara de leur marasme chronique. Dans le cas de la République démocratique du Congo, ce changement d’orientation économique a entrainé l’émergence de micro et petites entreprises qui -compte tenu deleur manque de structuration, de leur évolution en marge du cadre légal, de leurs insuffisances intrinsèques à pourvoir des emplois durables et deleur faible impact socio-économique- ont montré leur limite quant à leur capacité de fournir un gage de développement durable. Avec une approche méthodologique basée sur la micro-économie, la statistique et l’économétrie, ce livre scrute l’environnement économique, mais aussi légal et financier dans lequel évoluent les PME congolaises. Ce livre tente aussi de répondre aux questions liées aux facteurs decroissance, aux conditions et mécanismes qui doivent constituer lesoubassement du développement des PME dans le contexte de la RDC. Un développement qui facilitera la transition vers l’ère de l’entreprise capitaliste moderne.Emmanuel-Gustave Kintambu Mafukuest Professeur titulaire àl’Université de Kinshasa et à l’Université Kongo à Mbanza-Ngungu.
