A lo largo de este libro podemos ver la “gloria de Dios” manifestada varias veces, y como sale del Templo de Jerusalén y es llevada al cielo desde el monte de los Olivos. Esto nos recuerda que Jesucristo ascendió desde ese monte a la gloria del Padre. Este alejamiento de la gloria de Dios indica el juicio de Dios sobre Israel; el Templo de entonces (el de Zorobabel reformado por Herodes) quedó en ruinas en el año 70 d.C., y toda la ciudad de Jerusalén fue destruida por el general Tito.Pero al final del libro se habla de la vuelta de la gloria de Dios a Israel. Esto indica la restauración futura de Israel. La gloria de Dios volverá sobre el mismo monte de los Olivos en el futuro. 10
