Cet ouvrage étudie les expériences des élèves ghanéens des écoles secondaires du premier cycle en matière de discipline scolaire et le choix des mesures disciplinaires par les enseignants. Ces expériences sont observées par le biais d’une approche non participative à partir d’un échantillon d’écoles secondaires gouvernementales de la municipalité d’Effutu, une communauté de pêcheurs de la région centrale du Ghana. Les chapitres sont issus d’une analyse documentaire menée par l’auteur auprès de 36 personnes interrogées dans deux écoles principales uniques. Les résultats ou les récits présentés dans le livre serviront de guide de référence à divers chercheurs, enseignants et parties prenantes sur les points de vue des élèves concernant la discipline scolaire ainsi que sur les mesures adoptées. Il permettra également de sensibiliser au type de mesures disciplinaires que les élèves considèrent comme appropriées pour améliorer l’efficacité des interactions entre la classe et l’école.
