Yes, Virginia, there really is a plan of salvation. It is a plan designed and executed by God to save humanity from destruction. It is not a phrase that was created by someone to be thrown about by various Christians like so many other words and phrases. It is an actual plan.The Christian community has its own language that many outsiders, and a lot of Christians themselves, do not fully understand. We throw words and phrases into our conversations without really giving much thought to what they truly mean. Well, the phrase 'the plan of salvation' falls into this category. It is something most all Christians have said at least once and yet, very few have actually sat down and fully thought out what that phrase really means.God indeed had a plan - a real, actual plan for saving us. It was a plan that was thousands of years in the making and ultimately, flawlessly implemented by Christ.
