La comunità kaffir in Sri Lanka è poco numerosa, ma ha una propria identità. Sono i discendenti dei migranti provenienti dai Paesi africani nel XVI secolo. I loro insediamenti sono concentrati in alcune aree costiere in prossimità di Puttalam, Negombo e Trincomalee. L’obiettivo principale di questo studio è esplorare l’evoluzione della comunità Kaffir in Sri Lanka da una prospettiva demografica. Lo studio analizzerà inoltre le tendenze e i modelli di fertilità, mortalità, morbilità e migrazione che hanno plasmato l’evoluzione demografica della comunità Kaffir nello Sri Lanka. Le previsioni indicano una tendenza al declino e forse una possibile estinzione. Pertanto, questa situazione potrebbe avere un impatto considerevole sulla loro esistenza in futuro.
