La zone de Masuku Mission est située dans le district de Choma, dans la province méridionale de la Zambie. Elle repose sur des unités lithostratigraphiques du bloc Choma-Kalomo, datant du Mésoprotérozoïque, qui fait partie du prolongement sud de la ceinture mobile d’Irimide. Les événements géologiques dans le bloc Choma-Kalomo sont datés entre 1600 et 950 Ma. Les pegmatites de la zone d’étude font partie des pegmatites contenant de l’étain de la ceinture d’étain Choma-Kalomo de la province méridionale de la Zambie et constituent une source potentielle importante d’étain, de tantale, de pierres précieuses et d’éléments de terres rares (ETR).
