D’un point de vue scientifique, il est nécessaire d’établir une relation entre la médecine traditionnelle et les activités chimiques, biologiques et thérapeutiques des plantes médicinales présentes dans les régions de notre pays, la Colombie. L’objectif de cette recherche était d’évaluer l’activité antimicrobienne, antinéoplasique et cytotoxique des huiles essentielles de certaines plantes du département du Quindío et de la Vallée de Colombie. Comme on peut le voir dans le document, les résultats obtenus corroborent l’utilisation traditionnelle de ces espèces et l’élaboration possible de produits antinéoplasiques et antimicrobiens à l’avenir.
