Este estudo contribui para a compreensão do empreendedorismo dos imigrantes, ao qual tem sido dada pouca atenção, especialmente quando se trata de grupos mais pequenos que são normalmente ignorados devido à dimensão da sua população num país de acolhimento. O objetivo deste estudo era aprofundar este conhecimento limitado sobre a forma como os proprietários de pequenas empresas de etnia imigrante croata iniciam o seu próprio negócio na Austrália e, em particular, o que os motiva nos seus processos de tomada de decisão. Por outras palavras, que caraterísticas culturais ou socioeconómicas aceleram as suas decisões a favor do autoemprego em comparação com o emprego assalariado?
