As búfalas têm uma grande contribuição na produção de leite no Nepal. A produtividade das búfalas é baixa principalmente devido ao atraso na primeira partição e ao tempo de concepção subsequente. O ensaio BioPryn mede o nível sanguíneo da Proteína Específica da Gravidez B (PSPB), e este é considerado um programa de diagnóstico precoce, preciso e fácil de implementar na gado leiteiro. No entanto, a sua aplicação no diagnóstico da gravidez em búfalas ainda não foi estabelecida. O estudo proposto centrou-se em determinar os níveis sanguíneos basais e na gravidez de PSPB em búfalas nepalesas, como um passo para validar este método em búfalas. Com base neste estudo, a gravidez com base no nível de PSPB circulante pode ser detectada em búfalas logo na terceira semana após o acasalamento com o teste BioPryn. A investigação pode ser útil para veterinários e agricultores para criar uma visão sobre a utilização do teste Biopryn para o diagnóstico precoce da gravidez em búfalas e para adicionar informações através de investigação e ações nos próximos dias.
