A tecnologia de gás para líquido (GTL) é um processo de refinação que converte gás de síntese (uma mistura de monóxido de carbono e hidrogénio) em hidrocarbonetos de cadeia longa, como gasolina e diesel. O processo Fischer-Tropsch é um componente essencial da tecnologia de gás para líquido. Como exemplo comercial, a maior fábrica de GTL do mundo foi inaugurada no Qatar (conhecido como a capital mundial do gás), em consulta com a Pearl GTL e a Qatar Petroleum. A tecnologia de conversão de gás em líquido é uma tecnologia emergente para explorar os abundantes recursos de gás natural. A GTL representa o futuro da energia e oferece uma nova plataforma para as indústrias energéticas mundiais.
