A atividade catalítica e o estudo dielétrico das nanopartículas de ferrite de cobalto substituída foram realizados através da introdução de substituintes como bismuto, cobre e também foi estudada a influência do método de síntese na atividade. A fim de estudar o efeito do método de preparação na atividade catalítica, foram sintetizadas nanopartículas de ferrite de cobalto e ferrite de cobalto substituída por bismuto (CoFe2-xBixO4 x = 0, 0,1) por dois métodos diferentes, a saber, combustão em solução e coprecipitação. O efeito dos substituintes na atividade catalítica e o estudo elétrico da ferrite de cobalto foram realizados através da síntese de ferrite de cobalto substituída por bismuto (CoFe2-xBixO4 x = 0, 0,05), cobre, nanopartículas de ferrite de cobalto co-substituídas por bismuto Cu0,5Co0,5Fe1,9Bi0,1O4 pelo método de combustão em solução. Foi observada uma diminuição na constante dielétrica e na perda dielétrica pela co-substituição de bismuto e cobre. A atividade catalítica da ferrite de cobalto, da ferrite de cobalto substituída por bismuto sintetizada por dois métodos diferentes e da ferrite de cobalto co-substituída por cobre e bismuto foi comparada para a redução de 4-nitrofenol a 4-aminofenol usando NaBH4 como agente redutor.
