L’uso dei pesticidi ha avuto un grave impatto dal punto di vista ambientale e soprattutto sulla salute pubblica, con segnalazioni di contaminazione di vari mezzi di comunicazione (aria, acqua e suolo) e casi di avvelenamento acuto e di morte, ma con poche notizie reali sugli effetti cronici sulla salute dell’esposizione a lungo termine a queste sostanze. Questo studio mostra gli effetti sulla salute dei lavoratori esposti a lungo termine ai pesticidi e trattati presso l’Ambulatorio di Tossicologia dell’Hospital de Clínicas di Unicamp nel 2006 e 2007. Si tratta di uno studio osservazionale descrittivo trasversale che riporta e analizza gli effetti sulla salute di 370 lavoratori esposti professionalmente ai pesticidi nel lungo periodo nella regione studiata.
