En esta investigación, se presenta a la Espiritualidad Guaraní como una de las causas del accionar de los Guaraníes de las Misiones Jesuíticas del Litoral argentino en el marco de la Guerra por la Independencia sudamericana entre los años 1810 al 1830, y que van más allá de los intereses políticos de los españoles y portugueses de aquel momento. Debe entenderse a la espiritualidad como un elemento que trasciende la religiosidad, que lleva a las personas a hacer lo que hacen. El espíritu es ese impulso que tiene todo ser humano, su modo de ser, el cual está acotado por los más diversos factores, otorgando a una persona y a toda una sociedad, una serie de características propias. Particularmente, las acciones bélicas desarrolladas en el Litoral Argentino, los guaraníes imprimieron ciertos movimientos muy propios de ellos. Éstos se analizarán en una serie de documentaciones escritas por los guaraníes, donde se pueda percibir la espiritualidad guaraní. Estas documentaciones serán contrastadas con textos redactados por líderes criollos y portugueses, en los cuales se podrá constatar la carencia de esta espiritualidad guaraní.
