2017 Reprint of 1903 Edition.  Full facsimile of the original edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software.  Esperanto was created in the late 19th Century by L. L. Zamenhof, a Polish-Jewish ophthalmologist from Białystok, then part of the Russian Empire.  According to Zamenhof, he created the language to reduce the time and labor required to learn a foreign language and to foster harmony between people from different countries.   This revised edition of the Esperanto  grammar was the first published for English readers - and benefited  from the personal supervision and official approval of the founder, Dr. Zamenhof.
