Dieses Buch behandelt den Entwurf und die Entwicklung eines einkanaligen 3-Kanal-Elektrokardiographen und einer softwarebasierten Verarbeitungsumgebung. Zu den wichtigsten Konstruktionsmerkmalen gehören: Reduzierung der Gleichtaktspannungen, guter Schutz für den Patienten, Verwendung des EKG-Geräts sowohl zur Überwachung als auch zur automatischen Extraktion und Messung der EKG-Komponenten durch die Software. Es wurde eine effiziente EKG-Hardware entwickelt, die den Einfluss von Gleichtaktspannungen verringert und aus einer Ableitungsauswahlstufe besteht, sodass der Benutzer auswählen kann, welche bipolare Ableitung aufgezeichnet werden soll, einer Vorverstärkungsstufe zur Verstärkung der Differenzpotenziale bei gleichzeitiger Unterdrückung von Gleichtaktspannungen, einer elektrischen Isolationsstufe aus drei Filterstufen mit unterschiedlichen Bandbreiten zur Rauschunterdrückung, einer Stufe zur Reduzierung von Stromleitungsstörungen und einer Endverstärkungsstufe.
