Die Studie fragt nach der Zukunft des von der Staatenwelt ausgehenden, räumlich-territorialen politischen Ordnungsdenkens. Dabei wird der Funktionsverlust des nationalstaatlichen Raum- und Territorialitätsbegriffes im Kontext globaler Politik konstatiert und konzeptionell herausgearbeitet. Für die Internationalen Beziehungen bedeutet dies eine Zusammenführung von postmodernen und traditionalistischen Ansätzen zu einem eigenständigen Konzept für die Analyse globaler Politik.
