In joy, Enter The Open Door invites readers to a closer walk with Christ in active faith. Many recognize the open door of His life. These devotions encourage readers to fully enter, starting where they are now. Let God activate your faith through in-depth answers from the Bible and the refreshing power of the Holy Spirit working through Christ’s cross in daily life. The reader will find Scripture, prayers, and sharp insights to penetrate life’s roadblocks. Each devotion, readable in about ten minutes, is a lesson from the battle zone by a survivor of a near-fatal car crash, cancer with surgery, and serious family health and career challenges, all used by God to bring His children forward in faith. Trained as a reporter, the author recorded lessons God used to lead her through the heat of battle as well as the dangers of comfort and compromise. Each day, walk free.Ann Conner has encountered God in a Kansas wheat field, an urban church in San Francisco, a rural community with pioneer roots, moves to four states, and a growing daily walk with her Savior. With an M.S. in journalism, she worked as a teacher, reporter, and editor. For 20 years, she has led Bible studies and spoken to church groups of several denominations. In 2004-05, she coordinated a monthly harvest prayer network with participants from 16 churches. In 2005, the author was diagnosed with cancer, followed by surgery. Most of the second half of this book was finished during radiation therapy, an opportunity in disguise used by God for healing and time to write. She and her husband, a physician, have been married 39 years and have a grown son, an engineer. Her work has appeared in Alive Now, Better Homes and Gardens, and several literary journals and newspapers.

We’ve been duped into removing prayer from the center of our churches and have placed it on the periphery or semi-periphery.  What we’re witnessing today in our churches, and in society at large, is that legacy of prayerlessness.  Church leadership may be hesitant and embarrassed to admit it, but there is a direct correlation between our spiritual weakness and our lack of corpo...

If God is good, why do we get sick? When God created the world, He declared: "It is good." But then came the Fall, and with it sickness and death. In this heart-tugging monograph, Dr. Davis McGuirt draws from both his training in theology and the personal agony of watching his father die from cancer to provide a variety of biblical reasons for why we get sick. We are also remin...
