Como resultado da elevada contaminação ambiental, quase todas as espécies do planeta Terra são continuamente confrontadas com a luta pela sobrevivência, pelo que a necessidade de desenvolvimento de técnicas eficientes e eficazes para a recuperação de ambientes contaminados/poluídos é de extrema importância.
