Her most recent work has been on environmentally forced migrants in Bangladesh and the social construction and culture of disasters. She is the co-author of Continuous Journey: Social History of South Asians in Canada, co-editor and author of two volumes on refugees in Canada and is author of many academic journal articles in the field of forced migration.
