La música mueve memorias y estás emergen a la conciencia acompañadas de sus correspondientes emociones. El objetivo de este estudio es solo una parte en el procesamiento de la experiencia musical. Investigamos aquí, los correlatos cerebrales de la reacción emocional producida por tres obras musicales y para ello usamos las siguientes técnicas: reportes validados de la emoción con Análisis de Componentes Principales, Imagen por Resonancia Magnética Funcional y, la Actividad Coherente del Electroencefalograma. Aplicamos a diecinueve sujetos, no-músicos, estímulos musicales generadores de agrado (JS Bach y G Mahler) y desagrado (música atonal contemporánea). Se hizo un diseño experimental en bloques de música y ruido blanco. Los sujetos experimentaron treinta minutos de estimulación auditiva incluyendo los tres tipos de música y el ruido. Se hizo la comparación entre los estados de agrado y desagrado inducidos por la música. Los resultados muestran diferentes patrones cerebrales que resultan de las emociones experimentadas. Esto es relevante para investigaciones en Psicología de la Música, Cognición Musical y en la clínica como en la Músicoterapia.
